Chacaltaya Ski Hut

Chacaltaya Ski Hut

I travelled through Bolivia for a couple of months in 2016 and made a photo story of my time spent there. It’s my love letter to the land and to the generations of people who have shaped it.

This is abandoned ski hut on the disappeared Chacaltaya glacier near La Paz. The 18.000 year old glacier used to be the highest ski run in the world but melted completely away in 2009 due to climate change.
